Challenge for Mobile Application Developers

The biggest challenge for Mobile Application Developers is the porting and testing. For most application developers the satisfaction comes from developing the application from scratch and thinking through the logic and the user experience. However, before any such mobile application can be launched in the market and expect to reach a significantly, the application need to be ported to multiple devices and platforms – which requires a very different set of skills and areas of expertise. Porting is making changes to software to make it run on different environment. In mobile development, porting is the most important phase where they has to run a large number of models and has to cover most new models to get through the market. To maximize market availability, mobile application publishers and developers must make their content available on popular mobile platforms such as J2ME, BREW, iPhone and Windows Mobile. It enables developers to maintain a single code base to target the four most important mobile platforms J2ME, BREW, iPhone and Windows Mobile. As the mobile devices become so ubiquitous, the requirement for reliable mobile testing services has become even more compelling. Mobile applications are often built to be as agile and robust as PC based applications. This really takes a great deal of effort and its time consuming.
